Char Bhuja Temple
An Ancient Temple in the middle of a more than 750 years old town popularly known as the city of step-wells - Bundi. The Temple of Shree Charbhuja Nath is the most worshiped temple in the town. In the temple, there is a sculpture of Krishna made of pure black stone with a rare diamond on the chin.
The sculpture was bought from Ranthambore by a ruler of Bundi - Rav Surjan ( ruling years 1554- 1585 ) in March 1559 after the treaty with Mughal emperor Akbar handing over him the burj. of Ranthambore. In respect of Rav Surjan, Akbar gave him hajari jaat and manrood garh katega ( Madhya Pradesh ).
Mother of Rav Surjan placed the sculpture bought from Ranthambore in an old shiv temple in tilak chowk, Bundi. Shiv Temple's name was Sarneshwar Mahadev which is now known as Shree Charbuja Nath Temple.
